Ancestry Library Edition
Ancestry Library is a genealogy database with research tools that consist of data from census, military records, court, land, probate, vital and church records as well as passenger lists etc. It covers Canada, the US, UK and some European countries. This is available for use in the library only.

Canadian Safe Boating Council
This is the website for Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC), which provides information about boat safety and about the different workshops they offer.

We are pleased to announce that we have have partnered with CELA the Centre for Equitable Library Access and now we can offer patrons who need this service. The CELA Program provides local library access to Canada's largest collection of alternative format books and online resources for people who have difficulty reading print due to a visual, physical or learning disability. We have magazines and are able to do interlibrary loans. For more information and to be included in this service please contact either the Havelock or Cordova Libraries.

Consumer Health Complete-EBSCO
This link will take you to Consumer Health which provides information in different formats. There are reports, reference, drug information, fact sheets, pamphlets and more.

Consumer Health French-EBSCO
This database is similar to Consumer Health Complete except the information is in French. There is one tab that will give you information in French or English.

The EBSCO database will get you to a variety of links. There is still Consumer Health but now we have added Small Engine Repair Reference Centre and Home Improvement Reference Centre

There are 2,644,547 active geocaches and over 6 million geocachers worldwide. All you need to do is sign up. There are a lot of geocaches in our region.

Global Road Warrior
This database will give you the information you need for traveling or if you are interested in other countries. It features 175 countries with 121 topics for each country. Topics include Country Culture, History, Language, Global Travel, and Education.

Home Improvement Reference Centre
This site gives you ideas how to do different home improvements from decorating to fixing things around the house. It also has a handy A to Z topic section.
You need to click on the link and them choose home improvements.

Mango Languages
If you would like to learn a new language this is the website for you. With Mango Languages you have a choice of 71 languages to learn. All you need to login anywhere is the last 5 digits of your library card (if you have less than 5 put zero's in front of the numbers).

Marmora Historical Society
The Marmora Historical Society has a wonderful website that includes old photos, stories and information about the area and on different families. It is a great site for those interested in history and genealogy.

Overdrive is a new database that will let you download audio books and now ebooks free of charge to your portable device. You can chose from approximately 3000 audio books and 1400 ebook titles and you can either download from the library or from you own home. Just be careful and check to see if your device will be compatible. PLEASE REMEMBER ON THE SIGN IN SCREEN YOU ONLY NEED TO USE THE LAST 5 DIGITS OF YOUR LIBRARY CARD. Ebook Kindles are not compatible.

This database has all you need to repair any small engine that you have.

Start Boating
The program consists of a series of online, interactive videos, which guide the user through the basic skills needed to safely enjoy a day on the water. The program is available in English, French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi and Tagalog.

STARTBoating program
To help promote safe boating, please click on the link for a digital copy of the safe boating pamphlets. These pamphlets provide useful information on dealing with boating safety.

World Book Online
The World Book database includes Early World of Learning, Kids, Student, Advanced, Timelines, Activity Corner, Discover, Early People, Inventions and Discoveries, Living Green, Science Power, Social Studies Power, Encidopedia Estuiantil Hallazgos, and L'Encyclopedia Decouverte. If you go the Reference Centre they have computer & web tutorial, life skills, government resources plus a wealth of other interesting facts and articles. This database can be used from home. Please contact either library for the username and password.
